Sargent Beach, located near the top of Matagorda Island, is a fun destination for beachgoers and vacationers alike. The beach is situated on the Gulf of Mexico and offers stunning views of the ocean and nearby bay. Visitors to Sargent Beach can enjoy swimming, surfing, surf fishing, beachcombing, kayaking, jet skiing and more.

The nearby Matagorda Bay Nature Park is a great spot for bird watching and nature walks. The park is home to many species of birds such as pelicans, herons and egrets. It’s also a great place to take a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk or take in some spectacular sunsets over the bay.

Fishing is another popular activity at Sargent Beach. Anglers can cast their lines from the shore or rent a boat from one of the local marinas to explore further out into the bay. Species that can be caught include redfish, speckled trout and flounder during certain seasons. For those looking for something more adventurous there are guided fishing trips available where you can learn about different types of fish as well as how to catch them.
