About Me

Your Texas Beach Adventure Starts Now.

Why did I start this website? The podcast? The YouTube channel?

Because I love Texas.

And I LOVE Texas Beaches!

Port Isabel Lighthouse
Enjoying lighthouse in Port Isabel

I have been visiting the beaches of Texas since I was a toddler. From the northern beaches like Sabine Pass and Sea Rim State Park….down to Bolivar Peninsula, Galveston, and Surfside….further south to Matagorda, Rockport, North Padre Island, Corpus Christi and Port A….all the way down to South Padre Island and Boca Chica (before it was fashionable to launch rockets there!)

There isn’t a beach in Texas I haven’t visited. I was born in Houston, and have lived my entire life in the Houston area.

My kids have grown up on these beaches (they wouldn’t let me post any pics of them, yet.)

About Bruce Abbott
I have been visiting Texas beaches since I learned to walk!

I want to share this love for Texas beaches with you.

Type in “Texas beaches”, or “best beach in Texas” or any of the specific Texas beaches into Google, and you know what comes up? Thin web pages with no real information, created by media companies located nowhere near Texas. Some of these sites are not even from this country. Much of the information was incorrect and had no connection to what we truly have in our backyard here on the Texas gulf coast.

This really upset me.

I set out on a journey

My background is in media and advertising. I worked many years in radio in Houston, and spent the last twenty years as a freelance voiceover talent, podcast host/producer and creative advertising director involved in many facets of digital media . I knew that there was a way to combine what I know (media, podcasting, web, social media) with my love of Texas beaches to solve a need. Create the ultimate Texas beaches website, a podcast and YouTube channel. It’s a love and a work in progress.

You are looking at the progress right now.

Happy Beachin’, y’all”
