Indianola, TX

Indianola, Texas is a small coastal town located on the Matagorda Bay in Calhoun County. It was once the county seat of Calhoun County, but was destroyed by a hurricane and fire in the late 1800s. Despite its tragic past, Indianola has become a popular destination for beach lovers looking to escape the hustle and bustle of city life.

The main attraction of Indianola is its beautiful beach park located on Ocean Drive. The beach park offers free camping and plenty of activities to keep visitors entertained. Visitors can take part in swimming, fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, bird watching and more. The beach also features a pier which is great for fishing or just enjoying the sunset over the bay.

For those looking for something a bit more adventurous, there are plenty of fun things to do nearby. Just south of Indianola is Magnolia Beach Park which offers miles of sandy beaches with plenty of opportunities for swimming and sunbathing. There are also several boat ramps located along the coast where visitors can launch their boats for some exciting deep sea fishing or explore the coastline by kayak or canoe.

Fishing is one of the most popular activities in Indianola as it offers some excellent opportunities to catch different species throughout the year. Some common catches include redfish, flounder, speckled trout and black drum. During certain times of year you may even be able to catch tarpon or kingfish!

No matter what type of vacation you’re looking for, Indianola has something for everyone! From relaxing days spent lounging on the beach to thrilling adventures out on the water – there’s no shortage of fun things to do here in this little slice of paradise!
